MIM-PI : James Girone
MIM-PI
Homebase: Holland, the Netherlands
DESIGNER: Leonora Niewenhuizen
Sizes: 6 months to 10 years; Wholesale prices: $12-$56
No understatement in this collection. The garments are brash, exuberant and edgy.

Outstanding pieces: With all the pattern, glitter, contrasting shapes and appliques, I'm not sure if this is an outfit or an event.
Either way, the Betsy Johnson-esque pieces are undeniably fashionable and fun.

MIM-PI : WELCOME TO THE SECRET GARDEN

"To spread happiness, Mim-pi summer collection 2010 invites you to the "The Secret Garden".

The news is not always about crises and troubles. The new summer collection of the cute and trendy girls’ brand MIM-PI brings with it a breath of fresh air.

So..........
"Smile and the world smiles with you"

The theme of the collection is "The Secret Garden. "

is cute and trendy...... in dreamy soft candy colours that remind you of those
lovely cakes and pastries which bring a smile to your face.

The communion group is a romantic one with
dots interwoven with old fashioned cross-stitch embroideries of roses, birds
and hearts, like our Grandmothers use to make with tender loving care...

The summer coat is inspired by the movie "Grease", in which the girl
friends of Sandra Dee wore pink satin jackets with
"The Pinky Girls" embroidered at the back and you had to be special
to wear it ....... and now we have the MIM-PI gang

There is a special limited- edition skirt made of saris in different colours,
the cloth that Indian women wear (5 meter long). Because the skirts
are made from different saris ....not one skirt is the same!!!!

A one of a kind ....... Just like your child.

MIM-PI : Barbie Project

Mim-pi collects hand-me-down dolls to give away to poor children in India. Putting a smile on a child’s face makes Mim-pi happy!!

Leonora, MIM-PI designer:
"It started while I was clearing out my daughter's closet. She is 11 years old and her collection of BARBIE DOLLS was just lying there. I put them all in a bag and took them with me to India. On the way to the factories, I got out of the car and gave the Barbie dolls to the girls in the street. The look of happiness on their faces and their broad smiles big round eyes? JUST GREAT!!!!! Yes, that's why I am doing this."

So send your BARBIE DOLLS to:

MIM-PI : The story of Blythe....
It all started in 1972, when designer Marvin Glass and Associates, designed the Blythe doll. She was introduced to the market by the toy manufacturer 'Kenner', who after only a year’s production run, ceased making the doll. Blythe's big head, with her changing colour eyes, was too scary for children of the time. Later, its failure was analysed, and it was concluded that the Blythe was too far ahead of her time!

The years went by. Then Photographer and TV Producer Gina Garan was introduced to Blythe by a friend. She instantly fell in love with the doll, and from that moment on, she went everywhere she could to photograph original examples of the doll. In 2000, Blythe was re-introduced to a huge audience, this time via a popular photo book called "This is Blythe", which was produced by Gina, and contained a collection of artistic photos of Blythe. From this new exposure, Blythe suddenly found an adoring new audience of girls and women, including people in the fashion world, who saw a future for her.

What was initially an unpopular toy had now made a comeback. To cater for this worldwide interest, hundreds of internet sites have emerged, showing Blythe in all her glory. A one-of-a-kind doll, with not only her own collection of accessories, clothing sets, wigs, etc., but with thousands of beautiful photos taken by her owners.
Blythe has now achieved cult status...
